Anchorage on Straddie is the perfect setting for a wedding in paradise. With a hairdresser, gift shop, reception venue and accommodation on site, your special day can be co-ordinated easier. The boardwalk leads from the pool area onto Home Beach, creating an aisle to walk down for your stylish entrance to your beach wedding.
A grassy area near the boardwalk is the perfect spot for guests to enjoy canape's after the ceremony whilst the bridal party have their photos.
There are multiple locations on the island for a range of photos offering marine, tropical, native & coastal backgrounds.
Point Lookout hall (recently refurbished) is within 400m and offers another great venue where you can self- cater or hire a caterer.
Anchorage on Straddie offers the opportunity for exclusivity for your special occasion. Outside of holiday season, we can tentatively book the whole resort for family & friends to attend your special day. Bachelor and Hens events can be co-ordinated, as well as bbq brunch the day after.
Scooter hire, bare foot bowls, golf, sand boarding, fishing / 4wd tours, surfing, sea-kayaking and cultural tours - guests will have plenty of activities to indulge in. Traditional, casual, stylish or quirky - on a picturesque cliff, under a swaying palm or with sand between your toes.

OUR STORY
Staying at the Anchorage for it's great location and boardwalk to the beach, Damian & Leanne Stewart (managers of Anchorage On Straddie) were wed on Home Beach in November 2005. Having only stayed on the island in rental houses or camping grounds previously, the couple fell in love with the resort and continued to holiday there after. In July 2009 - once again on holidays, they saw the management rights for sale in a real estate guide and the rest is history.

Having our wedding at the Anchorage on Straddie was the best place to celebrate our day, although we had planned a beach wedding, this did not got to plan due to bad weather, but Leanne and her husband were very accommodating with a function room at the resort at the last minute. We even had someone to cook our BBQ, that works at the resort. It was a memorable day for us and our family and friends, the weather held off for some pictures around the resort. Everyone enjoyed their stay and the rooms were awesome, great views, everything you would need for a great celebration. I would highly recommend to anyone planning their wedding to consider the Anchorage we will be back there again.. that's for sure.

The wedding I have always dreamed about became reality in September last year. I can honestly say, a big part of the reason it all went so smoothly and beautifully was thanks to Leanne and Damian @ the Anchorage Beachfront Resort. Leanne and Damian were so friendly and helpful from the moment we first discussed our dream day. We could not have wished or hoped for more. The Anchorage went out of their way to assist us when booking our guests accommodation and nothing was ever a problem.Convenience for our 50+ guests was paramount in our choice of locations and the Anchorage had it all and more! The resort was in the perfect location for our beach ceremony (straight out the front on Home Beach) and reception at the adjoining La Focaccia restaurant. Not only that, but it was a short walk to the Straddie Bowls Club for pre-wedding celebrations the night before! It was the perfect weekend, in the most beautiful place on earth (we certainly think so!)We now look forward to re-living the experience for our wedding anniversary and are heading back with our family & friends to celebrate all over again!

Having our guests stay at Anchorage on Straddie was fantastic. Thank you for everything. Having our reception at La Focaccia meant that our guests didn't have to drive from the accommodation. Anchorage on Straddie was the perfect place to have all our family and friends together for our Wedding Weekend. You made everyone feel so welcome and nothing was too hard. Having the bbq/pool area together made the Sunday bbq champagne breakfast enjoyable for everyone. We all had a ball, the kids in the pool while the adults relaxed was the perfect way to end a fantastic weekend had by all.
